Simple Natural Preserving Kit

The Simple, Natural Preserver is fully automatic, there is no need to monitor the temperature. Simply place fruit into preserving jar, top with the liquid of your choice ( fruit juice, water, sugar syrup or liqueur) and seal with ring, lid and clip. Place bottles into unit which is filled with cold water and plug in. After 60 minutes, a vacuum seal forms and the fruit is preserved and may be stored on the shelf for future use - without needing refrigeration.

Preserving Bottle Clip - Size 2

The Preserving Clip is an integral part of the preserving process, as it holds the lid in place during the process, whilst allowing air to be expelled from the bottle as it cools, creating a vacuum seal. Clips are only removed 12-18 hours following completion of preserving process, once vacuum seal is secured.

When preserving , lids are placed on the bottle on top of the preserving ring and secured with a clip. When first put on the bottle, the lid appears convex, which will change to concave after processing, indicating the vacuum seal has formed.

Standard Lids are tin-plated with a lacquer coating, double-coated on the inside to food grade and single coated elsewhere.

Stainless Steel lids provide a 'longer life' alternative and should be used for all high acid preserves, including pineapple and pickles.

The Preserving Ring is the key to the sealing process and thus preserving success. The Preserving Ring provides an even, airtight seal enabling a vacuum seal, so that your preserves may last for years. Rings should be used only once and should be disposed of after opening processed bottles.

Snap-on Caps have been designed for easy, airtight storage after bottled preserves have been opened but not consumed in their entirety.

Please note that Snap-on-Caps may not fit tightly on preserving bottles manufactured prior to 1975.

The stainless steel Fowlers Vacola Thermometer is especially deisgned for use in original Fowlers Stove Top Preserving Units.

Preserving Bottle Opener

The Bottle Opener has been especially designed to open preserves by breaking the vacuum seal without damaging the preserving lid.

To Use: hold the bottle you wish to open firmly down on a table, insert the point of the bottle opener between the ring and lid. With pushing, the rubber ring is forced out of position and air is admitted, breaking the seal.The lid will lift off easily.

Preserving Bottle Tongs

These stainless steel Bottle Tongs are an essential accessory as they enable the bottles to be removed from the preserver without disturbing the lids and ruining the formation of a vacuum seal.

Bottle Tongs are designed to reach easily inside all models of Preserving Units without the risk of scalding from steam or water. To use: grasp bottle under its lowest ridge and lift carefully.

Preserving Packing Stick

The Packing Stick is designed to facilitate easy and correct positioning of fruit within bottles in preparation for preserving. It allows easy arrangement of produce whilst expelling air bubbles whose existence leads to 'rising' of contents.

Peach Pitting Spoon

Pitting peaches using the specially designed Pitting Spoon dramatically improves their appearance and reduces preparation time.
